December 2023 - News from the meeting

12/11/2023

Thank you to everyone, especially Jennie, Kristin, Joan, and Theresa, for the lovely meeting on Saturday, December 9, 2023.  We missed all those who were unable to attend and we welcomed two guests. Kritin's program made it easy for all of us to get to know each other a little better.  We are a really cool bunch!

Thanks to everyone who made donations.  Laura took lots and lots of full gift bags up to Strengthen our Sisters and I am sure it will make their holidays a little brighter.  We also collected toys because Patti Caruso said her daughter was doing a toy drive.  Well, here's the result.  Her daughter is Detective Kendall Caruso of the Glen Ridge Police Department.  We contributed, through them, to the PBA annual toy drive. The toys will go to Franciscan Charities  Newark.

There will be more information about convention coming out soon.  As it becomes available, it will be linked to the state website under What We Do -> NJ State Convention.  The hotel information is already there.

You should definitely know that we have a keynote speaker!  Dr. Ammeraal Furlong is a Jersey Girl and teaches at Georgian Court.  Her book,Voices of Newcomers: Experiences of Multilingual Learners, is the DKG Educator's Book Award this year.  More information about her is on the state website.

I hope to see you all in February,
