Hello Sisters,
Is it just me, or is the time just flying by?  Feels like I just unpacked my bags from Convention and it was time to start planning our May meeting.  One day it’s winter, the next summer (but that’s just New Jersey weather). Even in my own life, I just finished putting the finishing touches on my boys’ Easter baskets and one of our sisters lovingly asked…”You mean your men?” Ok! Ok! so they are 32 and 27. I told you time was flying by!  Still, they were great baskets! That is what happens though, life keeps happening whether  you want it to, plan for it, or just sit back and let it happen. I say let’s make the most of the life we have with every day that we’re given, because we aren’t guaranteed 108 years like Sarah Wilder of DKG Mobile Alabama. Sarah will be 108 years young on May 4 of this year! Happy! HAPPY! Birthday, Sarah.

As for DKGNJ, we had another fabulous Convention. Jan and her team did a fantastic job, once again, making sure each facet of our weekend was in place.  Please take a look at the pictures Jan sent out in our most recent Rosebuds email and on our DKG Facebook page. Many of our other sisters shared in making the weekend a great success as well. Thanks go out to Debbie, Laura, Cathy, Ann, and Tammy for their many contributions whether in presenting, preparing or promenading, you “did us proud!” Please forgive me if I’ve forgotten to thank you here, I promise we will recognize everyone at our May meeting. And of course it would not be a convention without the hospitality of our own Cathy Cleenput, our hostess with the most-est!. Last, but by no means least, join me in congratulating Laura Perrius, the recipient of Alpha’s Key Award for outstanding service to education, the community and our chapter.

So I hope to see you all on May 2 at the West Caldwell Public Library 30 Clinton Road West Caldwell, NJ 07006 when our program will be Beyond These Walls: Taking Pride in the Big Picture ~ What we know, want to know, and have learned. In addition, we will be welcoming our newest inductee Gina DiMaggio (inducted at Convention) while also inducting two more members; Emily Blumberg and Andrea Ritacco.

Warmly,
Theresa
