DKG International Convention News
In case you weren't on the International website yesterday, the International Convention in Philadelphia has been posted as "cancelled." I don't think this comes as a surprise to any of us since we are in one of the "hot spots" in the country. People who were registered will receive email instructions about refunds. Select convention events will be available online during that week, so I encourage you to keep checking the international website for updates. Please remember to cancel any hotel reservations. That will not be done automatically.
I will be cancelling the Jersey Girls dinner today and since Ellen has not deposited any of the checks she received, we don't need to issue refunds. Please tell your members if they want their check returned to them, they should contact Ellen directly (firstname.lastname@example.org). Otherwise, she will void and get rid of them herself.
It's been such an unpredictable year with so many unforeseen circumstances. While I miss the personal face-to-face connections with all of you, I think we can all agree that the most important thing is protecting the health of our sisters.
Please be sure to pass this information on to your chapter members. Stay safe!

Dear Alpha Sisters,
What a wonderful meeting!! Thank you all who were able to attend. It was extra special to have Pat Marks, Joan Konetschny, and Judy Merz with us from far away. It was also wonderful to have Brittany and Jameelah with us as members for the first time. We're going to have one big induction ceremony when we finally get there. I am attaching two merged screenshot pictures. I think I got everyone somewhere, but there are duplicates of some people. It was so good to see you. For those of you who were unable to attend, we decided to send half of our donation to Red Hawk and half to NJ Food Bank. Emily reports that the Montclair campus has students who have no other place to go staying in the dorms and they are in need. Patti and Cathy also made plans for our Grant-in-aid winner to get her award and we will meet her sometime in the future somehow.
So stay safe.
Now, here is the information on Red Hawk from Emily.
So, this is the Red Hawk Pantry website. It looks like they are in need for sure. Reminder of the list of things that are needed:

Dear Alpha Sisters,
Happy Quarantine! Guess what – we’re not having a meeting at Cedar Grove HS on Thursday, May 7! Things seem to have changed since we made our plans. We will, however, be having our May meeting by Zoom. Debbie Hoeflinger has offered to host the meeting on her Pro Zoom account. We will plan to meet at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2020 on Zoom. The invitation will be at the end of this note. I will not be posting the link on the website, so if you lose it, email me and I’ll send it to you again.
Here is my proposed agenda:
Dues for the year are due by June. Cathy needs to have all dues in by June 15. Her address if you wish to send a check is 181 Long Hill Rd. Unit 3-11 Little Falls, NJ 07424. Active dues are $75. If you would rather pay online, the link is at the bottom of our website: https://www.dkgnj-alpha.org/ . Please don’t make Cathy haunt you!. Inductees, you become a member as soon as you pay your dues. We can do the induction when we can meet again or at the next state convention.
New officers, please put September 12 into your calendar for the state meeting. That is the date planned for leadership training and the usual fall state meeting. All new officers are urged to attend. If they can get the speaker that had been planned for this June, the meeting may be opened to all members. The information from DKG about the Philadelphia convention in July is now on the website under events. I will post the latest information whenever it comes.
I look forward to “seeing” you all on the 16th! The good news is that you can chime in from anywhere 😊.
