Dear Judy Jaeger, Helen Allen and Cheryl Stafford,
Thank you so much for this email! I just finished this first year finals last week, attached you may find a picture of that happy moment at Harvard Kennedy School.
This second semester has been intense and full of new experiences and learning. The highlight of it has been taking new challenging classes and getting to know better my classmates and professors. But also other things have been super enriching, like closing the year having organized plenty of talks and activities as part of the leading team of the Argentine Society at HKS (photo attached), being recognized by my peers for being Academic Coordinator of the class the whole year, being editor of the Latin American Policy Journal which was released last month, etc. While winter was harsh, I already have my "uniform" to support it, it provided me the opportunity of going skiing nearby for the first time (photo attached), and not even the cold stopped me from biking everywhere. Its a shame I am leaving now that the weather is nice, but new adventures are to come in Sri Lanka, where I will do my summer internship in the government there for 10 weeks.
Regarding more adminsitrative matters, I wanted to ask if you could send me the confirmation letter of the $500 award for next academic year.
Also, feel free to share the photos with the rest of the DKG community.
Finally, please let me know if there happens to be a DKG meeting at Cambridge/Boston some time soon, would love to meet some of the fellows in person.
Thanks a lot for all the support ou and all DKG has given me and I hope you have a great summer and new academic year!
Best,
Malena Acuña
Dear Judy, Helen, and the rest of the DKG community,
Thank you so much for keeping me in your thoughts! I am so grateful for the encouragement I continue to receive from you all. I am set to graduate on May 15th, and could not have done it without all the support from DKG.
Thank you again for everything. I hope to make you all proud as I begin a new chapter serving the education sector in my home country, the Philippines.
Sincerely,
Anna Alejo
Dear Ms Judy Jaeger, Ms Helen Allen, Ms Myrna Santos
I would like to thank you so much for supporting me during my Master of Public Health Program. I am extending my most sincere thanks for the fellowship you provided me for two years.
Your support was extremely helpful and was paramount to my academic and professional success at the University of South Florida. It allowed me to dedicate sufficient time to my studies and research thereby excelling academically and professionally. I am graduating with a 3.86 GPA, experience in working in research with three professors, winning two research awards, two leadership awards and representing my school in committee and leadership groups.
I was fortunate enough to be mentored by Ms. Myrna Santos, who invited me to the regional convention and was morally supportive. She was one of my strongest social support, who helped me to remain encouraged and motivated. She created opportunities for me to share my experience in the U.S with more than 100 DKG women.
Please receive my sincere gratitude for the support you provided me as well as your contribution to support women educators globally.
Gratefully,
Marlene Joannie Bewa
