4. This just came to Megan from our new state Program Chair, Nora Pollard:
Although I know many of you, I would like to introduce myself as the incoming DKG-NJ First Vice President. Ingrid speaks very highly of you all and I look forward to working with you in planning the 2020 DKG-NJ Convention. I would like to ask your help with reaching out to your chapter members to solicit workshop proposals. I've attached the form that members can use to propose to do a workshop. They can also use this form to make a suggestion about a topic and/or presenter.
I know this is a busy time of year for many of you with closing up school for the year and preparing for you summer adventures, but if you could take a moment to send the form to your chapter members it will make our job easier when we meet in September to begin planning the 2020 convention. The form will also be posted on the DKG-NJ website. (yes, it is there)
Thank you in advance for sending the form to your members and I look forward to seeing you all at the September state meeting.
DKG-NJ First Vice President
5. For those of you who are committee chairs, you may be needing to attend the State Meeting on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the High School in Hamilton. Please mark your calendars. I anticipate Program, Scholarship, Finance, Presidents (Yes, me), and Convention, at least.
Debbie got some feedback from the Paterson teacher to whom we sent all those books.I talked t Louisa about the books we collected.. She said she brought them all in and her class had a wonderful time sorting them and claiming them but she said the best part was the books they got that were for younger students. After they pulled them out of the pile, they went down to one of the lower grades and handed them out to the students there. She said they were just as excited about ‘gifting’ the books than they were about getting some for themselves. All in all it was a great day. I thought you’d like to hear the story.
Have a great summer,
