Hello all, Happy May! I hope you have been able to enjoy the recent beautiful spring weather. I can hardly believe that the end of the school year is already in sight...we only have 6 full weeks left to go. But who's counting, right! As I've mentioned before, I try to look for the blessings and to not "borrow trouble". I feel fortunate that the elementary levels in my district have been, for the most part, in person all year. Just last week we actually merged our cohorts so the students' time in school could increase to 4 hours. I was glad that we were able to make this move as I've been worried for the shock my students would feel going from 2 1/2 hours with a very small class size to full day with 20 or so peers come the fall. I know that they need to build up their staying power. What I didn't count on (as I was trying to focus on the positives) was one of my 5 year old students testing positive for Covid! I made it close to 150 days before I had to quickly pivot and switch to teaching virtually!....I have to be honest - I'm having a hard time finding the blessings in this right now...I'll keep you posted! Perhaps I'll have an answer by our meeting on Thursday. Our Business Meeting, which will include our budget presentation and the naming of our Grant-in Aid recipient, is set to start at 4:30 followed by our diversity program at 5:30.
I hope to "see" you on Thursday.
